Always Tired- Simple Steps to Natural Cure for Fibromyalgia

Posted on: May 27th, 2011 by Rakesh Sethi 30 Comments

natural remedies for fibromyalgiaWhy am I always tired? It could be fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). Two are separate but related disorders that exhibit similar symptoms. They are characterized by lack of energy, overall body fatigue, and pain in muscles and joints. Some days are worse than others. Physically and mentally you feel that you are not the same person you used to be.  Here you will discover  a natural cure for fibromyalgia (which also applies to CFS) or at least how to reduce the symptoms, improve quality of life by following simple natural remedies.

Causes

The fundamental cause for fibromyalgia or feeling of always tired is toxic body. As the body accumulates more toxins, the “always tired” symptoms become worse, and you loose the will and ability to perform simple tasks. Toxins accumulate because of the following reasons:

  • Slower or improper digestion
  • Eating wrong foods or eating at the wrong times
  • Over-eating or not eating at sometimes
  • Mental stress due to taking on more tasks than you can do

You can eliminate these causes simply by changing your diet and life style.

Simple Steps for Natural Cure for Fibromyalgia

1. Detoxification

Follow the simple steps listed in an article Detoxify Body in 7 Days:

  1. Start first day with ONLY 32 oz.- 48 oz. of warm to hot water in the morning. Have warm light vegetable soup for lunch.  Or if you can manage with fruits only choose cooked apple or pear, uncooked grapefruit, or pomegranate. In the afternoon have only fresh Ginger tea.  If you can skip evening meal- great, if not, have Moong lentil soup only.  Rest & avoid exercising on this day. For the next 5-6 days:
  2. Have warm light easy to digest foods like chicken broth soups, rice & Moong lentil soups, or other light meals.
  3. Drink hot fresh cut ginger tea 3-4 cups and only hot water through out the day.  Take 1000mg, 1/2 teaspoon or 2x500mg capsules, of  Turmeric after each meal w/ warm water. Triphala- digestive aid herbal formula
  4. Take 2000mg, 1/2 teaspoon or 2x1000mg tablets of  Digest Tone(Triphala Plus)         before bedtime w/ warm water.
  5. Do Ayurvedic massage with warm Ayurvedic massage oil (Massage will move the toxins, improve joint flexibility, and oxygenate the muscles by bringing fresh blood.)
  6. Depending on your toxic state, you can continue this procedure beyond 7 days. The procedure is gentle, gradual, and natural so it can be done for 2-3 weeks. A good sign that the detoxification is working and uprooting the fibromyalgia, is when you have your energy back and do not feel always tired.

You can purchase all the herbs as well as Ayurvedic massage oil  mentioned here in our online store .

2. Post Detoxification- Rejuvenate Body

Gradually work up to your regular diet but AVOID– Icy cold drinks, Fried foods, Red Meats, Cheese, Refined processed foods, Heavy creamy & sugary foods, Raw vegetables, and Cold foods.  Make sure to include raw cold-pressed organic oils in your diet in moderation (up to 1 Tb spoon). Start with walking and gradually work up to exercise routines suitable for your health condition.

3. Stop Re-occurrence with Natural Cure for Fibromyalgia

To naturally avoid reoccurrence of fibromyalgia and avoid being always tired by keeping up your energy level, take turmeric (read health benefits) and ginger (read health benefits) in your daily routine for your health and wellness. Make sure to take on only those tasks that you can accomplish in the time set aside by you. Be Well!

  5. Jan Arnold says:

I have had a drastic change in symptoms I was already experiencing and new additional symptoms in the last 3-4 months. But these last 2 months have been the worse. It started with every 3-4 days I would basically be so exhausted I literally could not keep my eyes open. Now these last 3 days in a row I feel like I can’t stay awAke at all. When I try to stay awake & alert, I can’t concentrate, have trouble following conversations , my eyes keep closing no matter how hard I try to keep them open. Sometimes in the evening I can try to watch a show on TV with my husband but I drift. Indy keep my hands busy to help me but that doesn’t always work. I am desperate for help.

  6. Ross says:

Come on!!!!!!! Mr. Sethi…..You don’t know ANYTHING about Fibromyalgia. Chronic pain is not caused by a toxic body…is not that easy!!!!!
Is a shame that everybody can share that kind of wrong information.

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

Do you know what causes chronic pain? Please share with us. I have helped people by cleansing and sharing how to live and eat suitable to their body constitution. And here is best part – it works! No drugs which just mask the symptoms without ever addressing the cause. If you want to be technical about it, it is the wrong lifestyle and diet that create toxins in the body which in turn manifests into different symptoms in different bodies based on different body constitutions and imbalance of energies. If you would like to understand Ayurvedic science, please select any good Ayurveda book.

      • Rho says:

And I was just reading and thinking wow at last someone who knows that stress and poor digestion are major contributors in Fibromyalgia and knows that you must start with detoxing the body and healing the gut.
I’ve had Fibro for about 5 years now and am just about to start a detox in a few days. I did one 18 months ago and felt soooo much better. However I’ve been studying over the last 12 months and have learned so much more about gut cleansing and healing. I’m going to add Tumeric to my list and I’m all set!

        • Rakesh Sethi says:

After the cleanse, take warm cooked foods diet. Avoid heavy fried foods. Eat foods that go through in 24-36 hours. After the cleanse continue to take 1000mg of triphala 2 hours after dinner every night. Be Well.

  7. Liz Humphreys says:

Fibromyalgia nd Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are two different things. A person can have both or the syndromes can overlap, but they are not the same.

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

Separate but related disorders. They share a common symptom and in Ayurveda treated the same way.

  8. Nina says:

Please help me. My daughter have always pain inn her whole body snd she is always tired. She is in her mid 30’s

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

Please ask her to see an Ayurvedic practitioner. You will receive personalized recommendation to apply the concepts I have outlined in this article. Or you can follow the article and monitor the progress yourself.

  9. Boo says:

I am very interested in giving this a try. I do not like meds and I am unable to maintain symptom relief with just Paleo. I have a career that can be taxing, however I love it and am not ready to leave it. With my Fibro it is getting more difficult.

Hello Dr. I was just on pinterest and came across M your article. I have chronic pain because of a failed back surgery with nerve damage and fibro myalgia, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, and osteoarthritis. I have to take regular pain meds just to function daily. I want to be well, but nothing has worked. I am 46 and now disabled. Led a very active life, but no longer. Have tried cleanses in past but don’t seem to help. I hardly eat because I had stomach surgery cause of Gerd and now have dumping syndrome or hypoglycemia depending on the day. Any suggestions on how to do this detox without causing my sugar to drop and I have heard that if taking methadone you shouldn’t use ginger or tumeric. Any other suggestions?

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

Lisa, sorry to hear you have a lot going on. First suggestion in your condition DO NOT DO harsh cleanse. No fasting. Eat fruits to do slow cleanse like cantaloupe, papaya, honeydew etc. Add soft cooked foods to your diet. Stay away from raw foods for now. Ginger is OK. Take 1000 mg of Triphala after dinner. First address GI tract issues then work on others.

I have now been told I am malnourished. Just add to my list.

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

See my earlier suggestion. I figured you moving towards malnourished direction. Please add ghee to your diet in a very small quantity at the beginning increase to table spoon a day as your digestion allows.

  12. Dot says:

You are spot on, sir. Thank you for sharing so others may try. I appreciate your info. (I have liver detox aka CYP450 SNPs, SIBO, Hashimoto’s, celiac). I feel much better eating lighter and cleaner, and intermittent fasting/fasting.

I don’t know if this is part of the fibromaylgia but I am not just having fibro fog I am losing time. Not knowing the days or date but also losing like,a whole week. Forgetting what I did .what movie I saw with my kids. I am just scared to go,anywhere alone if anyone else had any knowledge of what could be happening please let me know. God bless

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

You need to detoxify (panchakarma) the body under the guidance of Ayurvedic practitioner. It seems physical and “mental” toxins have made home and need to be FLUSHED through “Panchkarma” procedure. After cleansing (detox) rejuvenate the body using herbal supplements (tonics). You will be able to restore yourself to your original self.

  14. Teresa Hoeschen says:

I’ve tried turmeric and felt no difference so quit taking it. Still felt no difference.

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

Please first cleanse yourself of toxins by fasting, ginger, and other suggestions on the site. Then rejuvenate your body with meals suitable to your body constitution. See an Ayurvedic practitioner for more details.

  15. Linda says:

My daughter has been disabled for about 20 years with having FM , CFS, a list too long to write. Her condition has caused severe depression and she has tried to commit suicide . She wants to die. The pain is unbearable and she said why live when she’s just existing. Wish I could take her pain. Can she be helped? She can’t afford for someone to personal study her condition but she needs be hospitalizedto for several weeks to figure out all her illness . I pray for an answer to this horrible disease that so many people have. Thanks

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

Of course she can be helped. She needs both psychological counseling and physical “detoxification”. Ayurvedic system offers detox and rejuvenation of the body. Check out the testimonial here https://www.promotehealthwellness.com/testimonials/ on this very condition. Currently I have no means to offer detox treatment. You need to see where you can have that done along with an Ayurvedic practitioner as a counselor. Perhaps going to India for this treatment will not only be less expensive it would also be change of pace, place and scenery for her which could benefit. Otherwise follow my article where I have tried to incorporate gentle detox procedure and diet changes however, along with this get psychological support which is very important as well.

  16. Martha says:

As a teenager I was diagnosed with CFS but was able to improve my health over several years by changing diet/lifestyle. I now have an 18 month old daughter but was sick the entire pregnancy because my body couldn’t handle the “additional load” even though I was at a point of being very fit and healthy when I conceived. I want to properly detox in preparation for a possible future pregnancy but I am still breastfeeding my daughter. Is it possible to maintain stamina for nursing while detoxing with a restricted diet (and is it safe for baby)?

    • Rakesh Sethi says:

This wouldn’t be the time to detox. This is time to nourish your body. Birthing is “depletion” for the body that creates imbalance. Please take warm cooked foods with good vegetable fats (ghee, sesame oil, olive oil), nuts in limited to moderate amounts your body can tolerate. Take 1000mg of Shatavari with food twice a day while you are nursing. After nursing do slow detox with fasting but eating fruits small amounts all day long.
